Mexican labour laws, IP in Brazil, Argentine debt ... - The Economist

MEXICO'S labour laws are among the most restrictive in Latin America. The Institutional Revolutionary Party, whose presidential candidate won this year's election, has so far been unable to pass a bill to change them. This week's issue of The Economist says that this legislative gridlock suggests the president-elect, Enrique Pe?a Nieto, may find it harder to implement a reform agenda than his supporters expected. It also includes stories on intellectual property in Brazil, a setback for Argentina in its legal battle with hold-out creditors and media freedom in Cuba.
